Thomas A. McCarty, Au.D
I was born in Denver, Colorado, grew up in Maryland and moved to Alaska following the completion of my Audiology training. Both of my parents have hearing loss-my father has Meniere’s Disease and my mother has genetic hearing loss. I became interested in Audiology as a result. In fact, my mother was the first patient I treated after she had been told, “Nothing will help”. I am glad I was able to provide her with a second opinion!
I worked as a Public Health Audiologist, after moving to Alaska, and traveled to remote villages providing Audiology services. I met my wife at the Public Health Hospital in Bethel, where she was working as a Nurse. We have two wonderful children, Elizabeth and Alyson, who both work in our Audiology Practice. We are truly a family-based clinic, in addition to being Alaskan-owned!
We have volunteered annually for our Medical Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic where we have helped thousands of patients.
I am a seven-time Boston Marathon Finisher, raising funds for cancer research at Harvard University.
At Audiology Associates, we truly believe we have an obligation to provide the most advanced Neurotechnology Medical Treatment options available. This is not something that is learned once but is an ongoing learning process with continuing education and a lifelong pursuit to be the best at what we do. These aspirations help us to give our patients individualized Neurotechnology Medical Treatment geared for the most healthy and efficient path towards better hearing clarity, and improved tinnitus and brain function.
